LG is all about making life good. Staying true to its core mission, we have seen how LG is making a name for itself in the world of consumer goods through its innovative products; whether it be mobile devices, household equipment, or even the TV.
We were recently invited to check out the world’s first curved OLED TV [Model Number: LG 55EA9800] by LG and it is dubbed to offer superior picture quality. Featuring a gently curved, IMAX-like screen, the stunningly slim 4.3mm thin curved OLED TV offers an immersive viewing experience.

According to DisplaySearch, a leading global market research and consulting firm, global demand for OLED TV is expected to grow to more than 7 million units by 2016. If you’re a late adopter of technology and you’re wondering what in the world is OLED TV and how is it different from LED TV or even LCD TV, you might be interested to check out this article, “OLED vs. LED: Which is the better TV technology?” by Digital Trends.

With the gently curved screen and LG’s proprietary WRGB OLED technology, the LG Curved OLED TV produces the most life-like colors and an infinite contrast ratio with deeper blacks and brighter whites compared to a conventional RGB display, offering picture quality that is beyond your wildest imagination. To top it off, the screen delivers incredible colour accuracy regardless of ambient light or viewing angle.

The Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic not only contributes to the extreme thinness but also to the light weight of the LG Curved OLED TV. With LG’s patented Smart Energy Saving technology, the LG Curved OLED TV reduces energy usage by as much as 67 percent, compared to conventional flat panel TVs.

To be honest, what really amazed us was not so much the curved design of the LG Curved OLED TV but the forward-facing Clear Speakers that are unobtrusively incorporated into the almost transparent Crystal Stand.

This new standard in television viewing experience is set to arrive in Singapore soon and the LG Curved OLED TV is now available for pre-order at the following retail outlets; Audio House [Liang Court], Best Denki [Ngee Ann City], COURTS [COURTS Megastore], Gain City [Marina Square], Harvey Norman [Millenia Walk], and Mega Discount Store [Kallang Leisure Park].

With LG’s groundbreaking curved OLED TV marking the start of a whole new era in home entertainment and putting LG at the frontier of today’s technology, will you be the first to embrace this new technology or will you adopt a ‘wait and see’ attitude?

The hefty price tag [recommended retail price] of SGD $14999 really puts people off and we reckoned that most people would wait for a few more years for prices of OLED TVs to drop before deciding on their next TV purchase. Then again, if you have the dough, you probably wouldn’t mind spending it on the LG Curved OLED TV and show it off to your envious neighbours. After all, you’re free to do whatever you want with your money. 🙂

We were invited to the launch of the all-new LG G2 smartphone that took place last Thursday at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore and we were blown away with the innovative features that LG has packed into the LG G2 smartphone.

As the LG G2 is packed with tons of features that would make this blog post an extremely lengthy one, we will only be zooming in on the features that we found pretty awesome and worth mentioning about.

Born from LG’s consumer-centric innovation, the LG G2 is the ultimate premium brand in the G series and it provides the most advanced smartphone experience for a very distinctive purpose; that is, offering real-life benefits to users.

Design

More often than not, smartphones with strong performance tend to be bulky, thick, and crude in design, and sometimes you probably might find yourself getting stuck in a situation where you either sacrifice performance for design or vice-versa when choosing a smartphone.

Now, who says you can’t have the best of both worlds? With the LG G2, there is absolutely no compromise in both performance and design because the LG G2 provides a comfortable grip feeling even with a wide screen and slim design. Also, what is extremely unique about the LG G2 is that there are no buttons by the side of the phone but instead, the Rear Key has been ergonomically-designed and placed at the back of the phone.

The refined Rear Key carries out a myriad of functions and it utilizes the natural and frequent use of the index finger to provide a new level of convenience. When a user wants to turn the volume up or down, he/she doesn’t have to change the grip of the device because the Rear Key is place on the back where the user’s index finger is naturally placed. With the Rear Key, users are able to operate a number of frequently used features conveniently such as QuickMemo or Camera.

Hardware

Display

LG G2’s Stunning and Uninterrupted Wide Viewing with 5.2-inch Full HD IPS Display provides superior graphics, accurate colors, sharp text, outdoor visibility and dazzling images without distortion. The Full HD IPS display of LG G2 outperforms current Full HD smartphone display panels.

Camera

There are other smartphone cameras in the market with Optical Image Stabilizer [OIS] technology but it has mostly been available on 4 MegaPixels or 8 MegaPixels smartphone cameras. As such, the LG G2 is the first smartphone with a 13 MegaPixels OIS camera without any boxy bumps or unsightly lens housings; hence maintaining its slim and sleek design.

With LG G2’s OIS camera, users are liberated from the concerns of taking blurred pictures because the OIS technology constantly makes micro-adjustment that helps to keep the image clear, even when presented with shaky movement. Therefore, users also no longer have to worry about blurry images taken under dim light conditions.

Don’t believe the wonders of the LG G2’s OIS Camera? Well, we actually shared similar sentiments until we saw for ourselves this video that was captured by the LG G2’s OIS Camera.

Battery
LG G2’s 3,000mAh high-density battery backed by the SiO+ technology provides the best-in-class energy capacity.

Performance

The Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 processor redefines the smartphone experience through performance that no one can defeat. With Qualcomm, LG was able to deploy the chipset that is tightly integrated with the device in the LG G2 to offer a stable and striking performance. The LG G2 is the world’s first smartphone to be globally launched that incorporates this processor.

Audio

The LG G2 is the first Android smartphone featuring 24bit, 192kHz Hi-Fi sound playback. When users listen to 24bit, 192kHz Hi-Fi sound under an ideal condition, they can experience high quality ample sound that stands out compared to other sound sources such as CD.

Audio Zoom is a feature that allows you to focus on what you want to hear. It enables users to zoom in the sound, as they zoom in the images while video-recording. Not only is the image enlarged, the sound associated with the area is also amplified, thanks to LG G2’s multiple stereo mikes that amplify the sound from a specified area and de-emphasize the surrounding noise for video recording.

Here’s a video to illustrate the Audio Zoom feature.

Our Personal Take On The LG G2 smartphone?

The LG G2 smartphone is a worthy contender amongst the various Android smartphones that are currently available in the market. In terms of performance and specifications, the LG G2 is on the high side and coupled with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2GHz processor with 2GB RAM, the LG G2 is rather intuitive and responsive. What’s more, the LG G2 smartphone is also an entertainment powerhouse where you can take great pictures and play some awesome high-quality audio tracks!

While we have been iOS users for quite awhile now, temptations to switch over to the Android platforms are pretty much in our mind especially with all the really cool and innovative features that Android smartphones can do. If we have to choose between the latest iPhone 5C/5S and the LG G2, we will definitely go for the LG G2.

For the price of SGD$898, the LG G2 will be available at all telcos and authorized retailers from 21st September 2013.

Summary of Key Specifications for the LG G2:
Processor: 2.26GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 featuring quad Krait CPU

Some time ago, we were invited to preview the Optimus G Pro Smartphone at the Patisserie G @ Millennia Walk, and we had the opportunity to touch, feel, and play with the Optimus G Pro Smartphone.
[Credits to LG Mobile Singapore for the image]

The Optimus G Pro is the first smartphone in Singapore with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display and it has double the resolution compared to a HD IPS display. With the immersive Full HD IPS display on the Optimus G Pro, it offers users an optimal image quality.

The Optimus G Pro sports a very urban and sleek look and with its crystal reflection, the Optimus G Pro is stunningly attractive as well. Available in two colours, Indigo Black and Lunar White, the Optimus G Pro has a size of 150.2mm X 76.14mm X 9.4mm and weighs 172g. Due to its slim design, the Optimus G Pro allows users to have an optimal grip that fits perfectly into their hands.

Utilizing the latest advanced technology, the Optimus G Pro features an array of multi-dimensional user experience [UX] features that enhance the users’ engagement with the smartphone and we really like a few of them. In case you’re wondering, some of the UX features like the QSlide 2.0 are already available on the LG Optimus G Smartphone.

QSlide 2.0

The QSlide 2.0 function allows users to overlay two different screens simultaneously on one display. This hence allows users to do two things at once, such as send a text message or search the web while also watching a video.

QuickRemote

The Optimus G Pro is the world’s first smartphone that is equipped with an all-in-one remote control. To use this function, users just have to register the home appliances into the Optimus G Pro and thereafter, the user can control the electronic devices through infrared signal. The QuickRemote supports up to nine home electronics or appliances such as TV sets, set-top boxes, air conditioners, audio visual equipments, projectors and blu-ray players from a variety of brands. This is definitely one UX feature of the Optimus G Pro that we really love!

Smart Video

With advanced eye recognition technology, Smart Video recognizes the position of the viewer’s eyes and automatically plays or stops the video without any manual input from the user.

Dual Camera and Dual Recording

The Dual Camera and Dual Recording functions allow users to capture pictures or videos with both the front and rear cameras simultaneously. Users can now partake in the video during any special moments and capture all the wonderful expression made from both sides of the camera.

VR Panorama

The VR Panorama function allows the creation of seamless and picturesque 360° view of scenic shots horizontally and vertically.

Pause and Resume Recording

The Pause and Resume Recording feature allows for the recording of short snippets of videos which can then be viewed as one uninterrupted video, thereby reducing the time and effort taken to string the clips together to form a continuous running clip. This is a rather useful UX feature that will come in handy for users whom are constantly producing videos as it will cut short the time needed for video-editing.

In addition to all these wonderful UX features that are available on the Optimus G Pro, the swift 1.7 GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ quad-core processor enhances the processing power of the smartphone by up to 24%! This hence supports data transfers and the launch of resource-intensive applications at blazing fast speed.

The Optimus G Pro runs on the Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 platform and has a 2GB DDR RAM and an onboard memory capacity of 16GB. The memory capacity is expandable with a microSD card of up to 64GB. The Optimus G Pro uses the MicroSIM card and it supports 4G mobile networks.

The Li-Ion battery on the Optimus G Pro is removable and has a capacity of 3140mAh. This is the largest battery capacity for a 5.5-inch smartphone. Besides charging the smartphone using the USB cable, the Optimus G Pro can also be charged using a wireless charging dock that is sold separately. As such, you can charge the Optimus G Pro conveniently anywhere, any time.

With the growing demand for 4G smartphones, the Optimus G Pro smartphone is a phone not to be missed as it supports all LTE frequency bands. This makes it compatible with any 4G LTE network in the world. With a quad-band mobile antenna, the Optimus G Pro is able to secure the fastest LTE speeds, supporting both 2×2 and 4×2 multiple-input-multiple-output [MIMO] channel configuration. Hence, it is no surprise that the LG Optimus G Pro was awarded the Best LTE Device/Handset Award at the LTE World Summit 2013 that took place at Amsterdam.

[Credits to LG Mobile Singapore for the image]

The Optimus G Pro will be available in Singapore early July for the price of $868 and if you’re looking for a high-performance smartphone that is stylish and sleek, you might want to consider the Optimus G Pro for your next phone purchase.

In our next entry, we will be sharing about our user-experience with SingTel’s 4G Network and it will definitely be an insightful read because with more and more upcoming 4G smartphones that will be launching soon, it would be good for you to know how you can benefit from SingTel’s 4G Network.

Last week, we were at the Singapore launch of the UE BOOM at the Commune Cafe, Millenia Walk and we were extremely impressed with the wireless Bluetooth speaker.

The UE BOOM is the first-ever social music player that’s packed with a specific set of features that sets a new standard for listening to music. The first to offer a 360-degree sound for a battery-powered device, the UE BOOM also boasts a rechargeable battery that can last for 15 hours. Unless you can party hard for over 15 hours, we’re pretty sure the UE BOOM would cater to the lifestyle of most people. On top of that, the UE BOOM can pair up to eight Bluetooth-enabled devices and connect up to two devices at the same time. This hence allows you to switch from one device to the next device with just a touch of the button.

The UE BOOM’s versatile go-anywhere shape is wrapped in a specially developed acoustic skin that is both water and stain resistant, and it allows you to enjoy your music practically anywhere you go. With a rubber sports-grip, the UE BOOM is definitely sporty and able to withstand hard knocks and shocks.

You can hook the UE BOOM with a Carabiner or Keychain and attach it together with your bag and anywhere you prefer.

The UE BOOM is definitely ultra-portable and a pleasure to bring around. Whether you’re heading to the beach for some suntanning, a BBQ/chalet party for a gathering with your friends, or to your dance studio for practising your dance routines, the UE BOOM will definitely be the life of the party.

To prove the point that the UE BOOM is a really tough and hardy speaker, we had a hands-on demonstration and we tried “killing” the UE BOOM like pouring water over it and throwing/dropping it on the ground from a height of 1 metre.

The UE BOOM is made for connecting with others and if more friends crash the party, you can wirelessly connect two UE BOOMs together through the free UE BOOM App [available for iOS™ and Android™] to play them in either stereo-to-stereo mode or traditional left/right stereo mode.

We were so engrossed in fiddling and pairing our mobile phones to the UE BOOM that we were oblivious to our surroundings.

How about toning that biceps with the UE BOOM? Well, probably not because it’s way too light; which probably is a plus point for ladies to own the UE BOOM.

Wouldn’t you agree with me that the UE BOOM really does look like a tumbler!

Well, so much for fooling around with the UE BOOM but if you’re curious to find out what the whole package contains, here you go!

In the package, you will find the charger [both two-pins and three-pins]…

and the USB cable!

The UE BOOM doesn’t looks too shabby even for the most contemporary and stylish modern home.

The Old vs The New? Truly, the UE BOOM has revolutionised the way music is shared! No wonder it is called the social music player!

UE BOOM is designed to bring music into the world and we really enjoyed fiddling with it. It is truly designed for people whom wants to share their passion for music and we highly recommend it for all your social gatherings. If you’re interested, the UE BOOM is available at all major electronic stores and it is selling for SGD$299.

Thanks to Nikon Singapore, we had the opportunity to review the Nikon COOLPIX P520 compact camera and we brought it out to the Universal Studios Singapore at Resorts World Sentosa for some photography fun.
As you all probably know, parking at Resorts World Sentosa is really expensive and hence, we parked our car at Sentosa’s Beach Carpark and then boarded Sentosa Bus 1 which goes to Resorts World Sentosa. The other bus that also goes to Resorts World Sentosa is Sentosa Bus 2 and if you prefer taking the Sentosa Express Train, you can do so at the Waterfront Station.

In case you’re wondering how much parking at Sentosa’s Beach Carpark cost, it cost only $1 [after 5pm on weekdays] and our entrance to Sentosa was free as we have the Sentosa Islander Card.

Now, we are going to let the photos do the talking and the photos that you see in this entry are all taken with the Nikon COOLPIX P520 [unless otherwise indicated]:

Camera Performance

To be honest, we were quite disappointed with the way the photos turned out. We took more than a hundred shots and the photos in this entry are somewhat the best photos that we have taken with it. We’re not sure if we have pushed the camera to the extreme by trying out night shots but even some indoor shots didn’t quite meet our expectations.

Some of the indoor shots that we’ve taken:

From Nikon COOLPIX 2013

Taking photos of moving subjects proved to be a really challenging task and most of the time, the photos turned out quite blurry. These could be due to the laggy shutter speed and autofocus system.

However, with that said, the 42x optical zoom range is mightily impressive and it allows you to shoot photos of subjects from afar. The flip-out rotating 3.2-inch LCD also allows you to take self-photos without much of a hassle. If you’re after a mega-zoom compact camera and you don’t really care about having additional features that you hardly will use, the Nikon COOLPIX P520 will work just fine as a point and shoot compact camera.

So what do you think of the Nikon COOLPIX P520?

If you’re interested, the Nikon COOLPIX P520 is available at all Nikon Authorised Dealers for $719 and for more information and updates, do check out Nikon Singapore’s Facebook Page as they have some exciting photography workshops coming up!

Life’s Good with LG

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

The model numbers of the 5 LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TV that were on display at the showcase are LA8600, LA7400, LA6620, LA6200, and LN5710 and they are currently available at all major electronic stores as of the time of writing this blog entry. To simplify things, we will be mainly sharing about the LA8600, LA7400, and LA6620 in this blog entry because the other two models, LA6200 and LN5710, are much more simpler in features and we feel that it is better for you to pay a few hundreds more for either the LA7400 or LA6620 and get your money worth.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

In recent years, a lot of people have been going for television with sizes that are way beyond what we could have imagined in the past and it is no surprise that people are willing to fork out more moo-lah to get that one special TV that will fit stylishly in their living room at home. Undeniably, the LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TV does Look Good in practically any setting and it comes in an array of sizes that will definitely meet your requirements.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

Now, let us bring you through to the Smart TV features that are available on the LA8600, LA7400, and LA6620.

Smart TV feature No. 1- Smart Control

The unique LG Magic Remote that comes with the LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TV can perform a variety of functions and one of it is the latest Magic Remote Gesture Control that allows you to change TV channel by drawing the channel number on the screen.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

You can also perform a Voice Search function that is available on the Magic Remote to directly look for content on the TV and also on the Internet. As the Search Bar showing the results will be displayed in the bottom half of the screen, it makes multitasking possible.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

If the Magic Remote is out of reach or is out of battery, the Motion Control is another smart control function which enables you to control the TV using your bare hands and adjust basic settings such as volume, channel, input source and power off. However, this feature is only available for the LA8600 and should you wish to use this feature on the LA7400 and LA6620, you will have to purchase the VC500 Camera and mount it on the TV.

To top it off, LG has even developed a TV Remote App that allows you to control the TV, Blu-ray Player, and Sound System from your smartphone. In case you’re wondering, the LG TV Remote App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

Smart TV feature No. 2- Smart Share

The Time Machine II is a function that allows you to record TV programmes, save them onto the TV’s built-in memory, and playback the recorded content. In fact, you can also schedule to record a TV programme even when the TV is not switched on. For the LA8600, the Time Machine II has an added feature that allows you to watch two TV channels simultaneously using the in-built twin turner set while you record a TV programme. If the TV’s built-in memory is insufficient for your usage, you can attach an external hard-disk drive to the TV and boost the memory capacity. Conservatively, a 2G storage capacity can have a recording time of about 75 minutes.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

The LG Cloud is another function which we found quite interesting and it provides 5GB of free storage space that allows you to share photos, music and videos from any LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TV, Android smartphone and personal computers. To access the content on the LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TV, you can download the LG Cloud app which allows you to also manage files anytime and anywhere.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

What is also new on the LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TV is the LG TV Tag On feature that uses Near Field Communication [NFC] technology to make sharing between your Android smartphone and the LG Smart TV possible. All you have to do is simply stick the NFC sticker at a convenient location, download the LG TV Tag On app from the Google Play Store onto your smartphone, hold your NFC-enabled smartphone against the NFC sticker, and then viola, whatever content that the TV is showing will appear on your smartphone for viewing. This is on top of the existing connectivity options such as WiDi and Miracast.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

Smart TV feature No. 3- Smart Entertainment

The variety and scope of LG’s smart entertainment ensures that you will never be bored.

Here’s why!

Catering to the increasing gaming fans, acclaimed games titles long popular on smartphones and tablets such as Where’s My Water, Air Penguin and many more are available for download on the LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TV.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

And that’s not all!

Korean pop fans will definitely like the K-Pop Zone where you can watch K-Pop celebrity interviews and music videos, many of which are exclusive to LG’s K-Pop Zone.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

Besides the enlarged content pool, the latest 3D entertainment from LG also enables Dual Play, a feature whereby two gamers can play at the same time and enjoy a full-screen independent view through their Dual Play glasses while playing the traditional split screen games. This makes gaming even more fun and exciting because instead of seeing a split screen, each player will see a full screen of his/her own race field without being interfered by the other player’s view, resulting in a more immersive experience and preventing players from “cheating” by peeking at each other’s view.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

Performance

Thanks to its dual core processor, the LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TVs deliver a smooth user experience and superior picture quality.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

The LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TVs are also built with the enhanced Triple XD Engine that gives the display a more natural color expression, deeper contrast, and better clarity. To complement the most vivid and realistic picture quality and to complete the absolute 3D experience, the LA8600, LA7400, and LA6620, come with more immersive sound through the 3D sound zooming. With the 2.1 Speaker System which comes with an in-built subwoofer, the LA8600, LA7400, and LA6620 produces sound of incredible depth and liveliness, bringing the cinema home with booming exhilaration.

Design

The new LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TVs embody LG’s minimalist Cinema Screen Design. Sporting a “vanished” bezel, the LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TVs subtly blends in with the surrounding furnishings.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

The LA8600 and LA7400 comes with a Magic Stand that enables the screen to appear as if it is floating. Combined with their Uni-body finish, the LG 2013 Cinema 3D Smart TVs present a seamless premium design, becoming a masterpiece on the wall of any modern home and will effortlessly harmonize with any modern interior design, allowing you to achieve completion of your interior design personality.

From LG Cinema3D Smart TV 2013

Truly, if you are still searching for the right TV, the 2013 LG Cinema 3D Smart TV could be what you are looking for. Logitech is no stranger to any gamer or computer user because it is one of the biggest brands that manufactures computer+gaming accessories like the mouse, keyboard, and speaker. However, with that being said, there are not many people who know that Logitech also manufactures products like the earphones and headphones. As a matter of fact, those whom have heard of Logitech’s Ultimate Ears [UE] Series are a select group of musicians and avid music listeners whom have tried Logitech’s UE earphones or headphones.
Recently, we were given the opportunity to review one of Logitech’s UE relatively new portable Bluetooth wireless speaker known as the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox and we were quite blown away by its performance.

Check out the video introduction of the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox

On the surface, the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox looks compact and miniature. Because of its small size, bringing it around wherever we go was a breeze as we could easily fit it into our bags. In case you’re wondering how heavy is it, it weighs only 298 grams. However, don’t be fooled by its small stature because when the occasion calls for it, the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox can really pack a punch!

From Logitech 2013

Unlike any other portable Bluetooth wireless speakers which can only connect one single mobile device, the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox allows users to connect up to two mobile devices at any one time and is able to play music from either one of the mobile devices. As the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox can also double up as a speakerphone for voice and video calls, you need not worry about missing any phone calls when listening to your favourite hits.

From Logitech 2013

Now, we put the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox to the test and here are our findings:

Battery

After 1 full charge of the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox, we connected my Apple iPhone 5 to the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox via Bluetooth and played music from the SKY.FM App. After which, we measured how long the battery could last until it depleted and guess what, it lasted way longer than my fully-charged Apple iPhone 5. As our Apple iPhone 5 depleted with the test, we couldn’t continue testing it but the duration we measured was approximately 5 hours! If not for the depleted battery of the Apple iPhone 5, we believe that the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox could go beyond 5 hours as it was tested by Logitech that it could last up to 10 hours!

Sound Quality

Besides having a long battery life, the quality of the sound produced was really superb. We played a few genres of songs ranging from classical and acoustic to rock and heavy metal, and we find that the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox was very suitable for classical, acoustic, jazz, and baroque songs. For rock and heavy metal songs, the sound produced was “bassy” and “boomy” but when you play it at the maximum volume, the sound was not so clear and got rather distorted. Hence, playing mellow songs at the maximum volume isn’t an issue.

If you’re wondering how the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox sounds like, check out the following video demonstration:

Design

The Logitech UE Mobile Boombox is wrapped with a unique grip-action rubber casing and hence is designed to withstand a little bumps and shocks. However, as with all electronic products, dropping is a NO-NO because it will damage the mechanics on the inside. The Logitech UE Mobile Boombox comes in 5 different vibrant colours of lime green, sea blue, white, black, and red for you to express your own style and you can be sure that it’s bound to attract lots of attention.

The Logitech UE Mobile Boombox comes with a charging adapter, a three-pins plug, a two-pins plug, a user-guide, a USB charging cable, and a limited hardware warranty guide.

From Logitech 2013

The Logitech UE Mobile Boombox is available at all major electronics stores for the price of $149.00 and it comes with a 2-years limited hardware warranty. If you’re scratching your heads and you’re wondering what sort of gifts to get for your friends, this might just be the thing!

LG Optimus G Smartphone Apps- Quick Translator & Safety Care [Part 4 of 5]

Our Verdict:

Having fiddled with the LG Optimus G Smartphone for a week, we really like the responsiveness of the phone. With the QSlide Function, running multiple apps at one go is really a breeze and the performance of the phone was way beyond our expectations. In fact, loading games with intense graphics were pretty fast and smooth.

Images displayed on the 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus Display were extremely sharp and lifelike and we really like how the phone optimises the battery by automatically controlling the brightness of the display. The apps that are available on the LG Optimus G Smartphone also comes in rather handy and we enjoyed using the phone very much.

Having said that, we really hope LG will consider investing more money to develop better cameras for their smartphones. Though we really like the Cheese Shutter Function on the LG Optimus G Smartphone, the images that were produced aren’t exactly the best if we were to compare it against the images produced by other smartphones. This is despite the fact that the LG Optimus G Smartphone’s camera has the highest number of megapixels as compared to the rest of their competitors.

So, if you’re looking for a smartphone that packs a punch in terms of power and productivity, and you don’t mind its mediocre onboard camera, you definitely have to choose the LG Optimus G Smartphone. The LG Optimus G Smartphone is available at all local telcos retail stores and hint hint, it’s cheaper to get it from Starhub! 🙂

Continuing from where we left off about the LG Optimus G Smartphone Blogbuster Series, we are going to share with you some general information about the Quick Translator and Safety Care Apps that are available on the LG Optimus G Smartphone.
Quick Translator
The Quick Translator App on the LG Optimus G Smartphone allows you to translate texts from any language to another language that you are familiar with. This is especially useful when you travel overseas and there’s a need to look up the meaning of certain texts which are presented in a language that you are unable to comprehend.

Safety Care
The Safety Care App can be very useful in times of an emergency. For instance, should you dial an emergency number such as 999 or 995, an emergency contact which you have already pre-assigned would be automatically alerted of your location. Also, should you not use your phone over a duration of time that you have pre-assigned or if your phone is running low on battery, your pre-assigned emergency contact will also be informed of your location. Hence, your pre-assigned emergency contact would be able to keep track of your last known location and inform the relevant authorities accordingly.

For a better understanding of the Quick Translator and Safety Care App, here’s a short video demonstration that we have created.

In the final part of our LG Optimus G Smartphone Blogbuster Series, we will be concluding our review of the LG Optimus G Smartphone and what we feel you should know about the LG Optimus G Smartphone!
