Celebrate Mother’s Day with Sweet Delectable Treats from Swee Heng 1989 Classic

With an entirely different store concept that offers a different range of confectionary products, Swee Heng 1989 Classic is geared towards the premium market.

Last weekend, we popped by Swee Heng 1989 Classic and we brought home tons of delectable goodies and sweet treats. From the outside, one would notice the striking vintage and retro decoration and upon stepping in, the sweet smelling aroma from the freshly-baked breads will engulf one’s senses.

To celebrate Jacqueline’s Mum’s birthday and also Mother’s Day in advance, we brought home the 10-inch Crispy Black Forest Cake that was retailing for SGD$28.90. Having tried the cake, we found the cake to be sinfully indulgent, especially with its rich and thick chocolate. If your loved ones enjoy chocolate very much, this is definitely the cake to go for!

Apart from the 10-inch Crispy Black Forest Cake that we brought home, we also took along with us some other baked products that are worth mentioning.

Charcoal Flaxseed Buns, SGD$3

With 6 buns in 1 packet, the Charcoal Flaxseed Bun is definitely value for money. Tasting just like any other normal bread, the Charcoal Flaxseed Bun is for the health conscious because the bamboo charcoal that is added to the bread dough is said to aid digestion, exclude radiation and excess moisture, and strengthen bowel movement. Sprinkled with some Flaxseed, this wholesome charcoal bun is definitely high in dietary fibre.

[Smartphone Review]- With OPPO N1, Taking High Quality Selfies Is Now A Breeze

We were invited to the media launch of the OPPO N1 sometime back and we were so mightily impressed with the innovative features of the smartphone that we even purchased it for our own personal usage.

With revolutionary features such as the world’s first rotatable in-phone camera, a unique O-touch rear panel, and the O-Click remote control; the OPPO N1 truly reminded all whom were present at the launch event, that innovation is not lost in the mobile smartphone industry.

Improving on current functional limitations, the main innovative feature of the OPPO N1 is the swivel camera that has a rotation range of 206°. As such, this will allow users to lock in position at any angle for the best selfie experience.

The OPPO N1 also comes with a special O-Touch panel at the back of the phone that offers the user a convenient one-handed operation. The panel allows the user to scroll, tap, or snap photos; without having the fingers blocking the screen. However, the O-Touch panel is sometimes not so intuitive and we feel that its responsiveness can be further improved upon.

What We Think Of The OPPO N1?

Needless to say, we really like the high quality photographs that the onboard 13-megapixels rotatable camera is able to capture and coupled with the O-Click remote, capturing group photos from a distance is no longer an issue and you can just snap photos with just a simple touch of the O-click.

The OPPO N1 has no problems taking jump-shots too

Even when on the move, the picture that the OPPO N1 takes is still quite good.

The battery life of the OPPO N1 is pretty impressive as it was able to last us for 2 days on normal usage conditions which includes checking our Facebook Newsfeed, sending text messages, making phone calls, and browsing the Internet.

However, with all honesty, we feel that for the price of SGD$769, the OPPO N1 is quite a pricey smartphone; considering the fact that it has a small storage capacity of 16GB, no LTE connectivity, and uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core 1.7GHz processor.

If you are a photography buff, you might want to consider getting the OPPO N1. However, if you are expecting the smartphone to have the power and the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 or the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, you will definitely be in for a disappointment. Otherwise, we reckon that the OPPO N1 will be quite a popular choice with the ladies whom are contented with a phone that allows them to take nice selfies!

As the G Pro 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.26GHz processor and 3GB RAM, launching multiple apps did not cause it to lag and multi-tasking was a breeze. Although it is equipped with a ‘best-in-class’ battery capacity of 3,200mAh with SiO+ technology, it’s overall battery life performance is average.

Our Opinion

With its practical rear button setup, the G Pro 2 allows for a better handling than similar or bigger-sized phablets. The G Pro 2 also boasts an excellent 5.9-inch Full-HD display and a 13-megapixel rear camera that delivers good image quality. Although the battery life performance of the G Pro 2 does not live up to expectations, spare batteries can be purchased for an additional boost.

To be honest, the G Pro 2 does not have any features which LG’s rivals cannot match up to. In fact, most of the features that come along with the G Pro 2 can be found in its rivals’ phablets and the only consolation is the advanced camera features which shutterbugs will find useful.

If you are looking for a phablet that allows you to take nice pictures and yet offers you a stunning display for watching your favourite movies or playing your favourite games while on the move, you might want to consider the G Pro 2 for your next phone purchase.

Debugging Our Bathroom, Car, and Kitchen with the KONK® I Handheld Flying Insect Killer

A 1 Month Experiment With Common Pesky Household Pests

There are really no permanent solutions to getting rid of common pesky household pests because if there are, companies providing pest control services would be out of business and supermarkets would not have to sell us insecticides any more.

Now, we don’t fancy cockroaches and we absolutely hate them, especially the flying ones. Other pesky insects like ants and flies can also be quite irritating at times but they are not as bad as cockroaches. We are either not a fan of insects or we just have problems getting along with them. In fact, they are also the reason why we would viciously spray tons of insecticide in our bedroom, kitchen, and even in the bathroom!

One fact of life remains, spraying insecticide is only a temporary solution; and to be honest, the smell of the insecticide is a major turn-off and can cause breathing problems or insecticide poisoning.

What if we tell you that we have just discovered a fuss-free solution to keep those pesky pests away without having to suffer from the harmful toxins of off-the-shelves insecticides?

Recently, we were approached by a local Singapore company, Ramroy Private Limited, to review a particular brand of natural insecticide and we found it quite intriguing.
