There’s probably no one who doesn’t take care of their face or not wash it, we all do that. Cleaning your face day and night is a no-brainer. What requires real effort is understanding the different types of cosmetic products and the right way to use them to achieve optimal results.

Be it mask, serum, moisturiser, exfoliator or any other cosmetic product, every product needs to be applied correctly.

According to NU skin reviews, we all know what products to use, when to use them, and when not to use them. However, there are still times when we are confused about how we should apply them on the skin.

Here are a few application tips that may be of help when you apply and use the following essential skincare products.

Harsh vs Gentle: How You Should Cleanse?

Just splashing water and rubbing with the facial cleanser alone will not do the trick. The sole purpose of cleansing your face is to eliminate all the dirt lying on the skin surface, and this step requires time. One thing that you should know is that your facial cleanser can wash your face but not your makeup. So, don’t take it as a makeup remover. Consider removing your makeup before cleansing your face. When you apply the cleanser, be as gentle as you can and use your fingertips to apply it in a circular motion. Continue the process for 1 minute, rinse off the cleanser and pat your face dry.

Before vs After Makeup: When to Apply Sunscreen?

Sunscreens are highly essential, and it should be applied every time you step out in the sun as it protects you from UV rays. A sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher does the work in making your skin look healthy and moisturised. However, don’t make the mistake of applying sunscreen after makeup. Always apply sunscreen before makeup and, give it some time to settle down on the skin before you use any other cosmetic products.

Physical vs Chemical: What is the Right Way to Exfoliate?

Exfoliation is very essential for your skin as it removes the dead skin cells and makes your skin look glowy. Whatever way you choose to exfoliate (be it Physical or Chemical), there are a few things you should always remember.

If you are choosing a physical exfoliant like any scrub, be sure to use gentle circular motions or a cotton pad. If you decide to go for a chemical exfoliant like glycolic acid or lactic acid, make sure you follow the recommended amount (listed on the label) to avoid any sort of skin allergy or irritation.

Following these simple steps will not only protect your skin from damage, but it will also help you understand the basic precepts of applying the products and make the most out of it.
