There are many runs by major insurance companies such as Great Eastern and NTUC Income and for the very first time here in Singapore, The Music Run™ by AIA will rock our shores this coming 11 April 2015 at Sentosa Island!

The Music Run™ has been making waves in Asia with sell-out crowds in cities like Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Yangon and it is the only 5KM run that puts music at the heart.

A Preview of What to Expect for The Music Run™ 2015

The Music Run™ combines the worlds of music and running into a total music immersion experience unlike any other. Its bespoke digital music selection will get hearts thumping and fists pumping to music chosen entirely by the participants. For the first Singapore edition of The Music Run™ by AIA, the run is expecting some 10,000 participants [also known as Music Runners] and Music Runners will get to run, dance, and party their way through a soundtrack of five unique and interactive 1KM Music Zones that features five music genres; Rock, Pop, Retro, R&B/Hip Hop, and Dance.

To give Music Runners the best music immersion experience, The Music Run™ is amplified with over 100 concert quality speakers that will pump out tunes every step of the way. Unlike other marathons and themed running events, The Music Run™ has no time clock which means anyone of any fitness level and age can join in the fun and complete the run at his or her own pace. To get Music Runners warmed up, amped, and in the mood, The Music Run™ by AIA will kick off with a Start Zone party at 2:30PM and end with an After Party in the Music Village.

Watch out for great music performances by the pioneer of beatboxing in Singapore and defending champion of the International Grand Beatbox Battle, Dharni. He will be collaborating with up-and-coming singer K-Leah to bring to the audience some unique mashups and medleys of popular upbeat tracks. From start to end, Music Runners can also look forward to music inspired entertainment, food and beverage stations, sponsor tents, and as well as great promotions and prizes.

If you love running and music, why not have the best of both worlds by registering for The Music Run™ by AIA?

To register for The Music Run™ by AIA and/or to find out more information, do check out The Music Run™ by AIA Official Website and like The Music Run™ Official Facebook Page!

Just so you know, the closing date for registration is 31 March 2015 and as it is expected to sell-out pretty fast [there’s only 10,000 running slots available], do register early to avoid disappointment!

And if you have already registered for The Music Run™ by AIA, don’t forget to vote online for your favourite track from each of the five music genres as the five most popular tracks from each music genre will form the music zone’s playlist for the actual run.

Both Jacqueline and I have signed up for The Color Run [Singapore] 2013 that will be taking place this Saturday at Sentosa Island and we are crossing our fingers and praying for good weather so that the race can proceed smoothly. Despite the major race pack collection hiccup that took place at Scape yesterday, we are still excited about the race and we hope that there won’t be any more of such bad and last-minute planning by the organisers. Waiting 4.5 hours to collect a race pack is totally uncool and hopefully, the organisers can learn from yesterday’s episode and plan in advance.
In case you’re wondering what The Color Run is all about, check out the following video:

This is the first time that The Color Run is being organised in Singapore and it is a one of a kind experience that is less about speed and more about enjoying a color crazy day with friends and family members. The Color Run caters to participants of all different speeds, ages, shapes, and sizes; and we’re pretty sure that it will be the most enjoyable 5-kilometers, un-timed race that we have ever participated.

Thousands of participants will be doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometre and the fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Color Festival”, where more colored powder are used to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention the millions of vivid color combinations.

While The Color Run event is all about fun and positive energy, the 5-kilometers run also focuses on promoting healthy living. Over 60% of Color Runners are first-time 5-kilometers runners and the event is making headway on the growing national focus of improving health and wellness.

Personally, this will be my first time running a 5-kilometers race and I’m quite sure that after this experience, I probably would take part in a few more races to keep myself fit and healthy. The Color Run will be my stepping stone to many runs and speaking of which, I probably should get myself a new pair of running shoes as my old runs are rather worn out.

We’re so looking forward to The Color Run [Singapore] 2013 @ Sentosa Island this Saturday and do check out our Facebook Page or Instagram for the actual Race Day Photos! 🙂
