Hello Everyone,
Baby and I recently dined at the Tajiyama Restaurant that is situated at VivoCity and this is one place you absolutely have to check out, especially for all you fans of Japanese Charcoal Grill and beef lovers!

From Tajiyama 120512
In fact, this was my second time dining there and we will definitely be visiting Tajiyama again!
Here is the extensive menu that Tajiyama offers
From Tajiyama 120512
Tajiyama only offers buffet from 1130 to 1630 hours on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays. And as you can see, it is quite pricey but despite the steep pricing, you can really expect to enjoy a wholesome weekend brunch. I plan to try their brunch when time and wallet permits.
From Tajiyama 120512
The restaurant has a rather zen feel to it and I quite like the spacious atmosphere. It is extremely comfortable to dine in large groups as well. But do make your reservations in advance because the restaurant tends to be fully occupied.
From Tajiyama 120512
Simple table setting.
From Tajiyama 120512
And yes, this is something worth mentioning. They have a sauce dish which contains 3 types of sauces in 3 separate columns. The first one on the left is for beef items, the middle one for seafood items, and the third one from the left is for all other food items like chicken and pork. Honestly, you can dip your meat in any of the three sauces because they taste superlicious no matter what sauce you dip them in.
From Tajiyama 120512
This is the high-performance exhaust system that takes care of the smoke from the Charcoal and the best part is, the oil doesn’t splatters all over the place when you grill your food.

So while waiting for our food to be served, Baby and I got a little bored and took some funny shots.

From Tajiyama 120512
This I think is my most favourite picture of the year. Isn’t she just so adorable and cute?
From Tajiyama 120512
Here are the food items that we ordered…
Miso Soup- the portion is extremely satisfying for one person and you can even share it with another person too, if you can’t finish that is.
From Tajiyama 120512
and what we really like about the Miso Soup is that it contains loads of wholesome ingredients such as straw mushrooms, button mushrooms, and toufu!
From Tajiyama 120512
Tempura Prawns- the tempura prawns were fried perfectly till golden brown and it was crispy and juicy. The flour wasn’t rough on the mouth and the tempura sauce that goes along with it is extremely fragrant and flavourful.
From Tajiyama 120512
From Tajiyama 120512
Chicken Meat- the meat was well-seasoned and I believe Tajiyama uses a special recipe for the seasoning because the chicken tasted really unique, flavourful, and juicy after grilling. This has got to be one item that you have to try.
From Tajiyama 120512
Pork Meat- similar as the chicken, the pork was also very well-seasoned and they used a different seasoning sauce for the pork. The meat wasn’t that tough after grilling and the portion is quite huge.
From Tajiyama 120512
Honestly, it was really an awesome experience as we grilled the food ourselves and had quite a lot of fun doing so.

If you haven’t been to Tajiyama yet, you got to really check them out. For this particular meal, we spent about $50 plus for 2 persons and yes, it is quite expensive especially if you are on a budget. But nonetheless, Tajiyama offers an excellent dining experience especially for groups and couples. If you are more adventurous, you are welcome to enjoy the al fresco dining area as the restaurant has an outdoor seating space that offers a panoramic view of Sentosa Island and Resorts World Sentosa. [Quite a romantic setting indeed]

Hello Everyone,
I have an extremely exciting piece of news to share with all you drivers out there!
Have you heard of Bosch?

Well, I am pretty sure you may have heard of Bosch… like you know.. Bosch washing machines and Bosch power drills but do you know, Bosch is a German company that also manufactures car parts and accessories like your car’s wipers and spark plugs?

Bet you didn’t know it [well, neither did I too].
But either way, here’s the good news!
Bosch Automotive [the world's original equipment and innovation leader for sustainability] is organising a Bosch Car Service Week and from now till 2 June 2012, there are tons of exciting activities and promotions that await you.
First up, from now till 1st June 2012, Bosch is having the Bosch Car Service Check-In Promotions and that means, for every car driver who check-in using Facebook or Foursquare at any of the 6 Bosch Car Service Workshops, they are entitled to a complimentary 15-point check on their car! Personally, I would recommend you to use Facebook to do the check-in. And by the way, you have to present your phone to the workshop staff within 30 minutes after check-in to enjoy this offer. In case you are wondering where the 6 Bosch Car Service Workshops are, they are as follows:
Bosch Car Service- Autovox
Bosch Car Service- Euro 5 Common Rail
Bosch Car Service- ETHOZ Automotive Solutions (Bukit Batok)
Bosch Car Service- ETHOZ Automotive Solutions (GUL)
Bosch Car Service- ETHOZ Automotive Solutions (Tampines)
Bosch Car Service- World Auto
Also, if you are searching for the right name to check-in to using Facebook or Foursquare, make sure you use the above-mentioned names to check-in to!
Secondly, Bosch is launching the Bosch Automotive Roadshow on the 31st of May 2012 at the Chevron House, Raffles Place MRT from 10am to 6pm! This is one event that you must not miss and it is especially so if you are working around the Central Business District area. At the roadshow, you will get to meet Bosch’s friendly Car Service Mechanic, Uncle Bob, and also uncover useful car maintenance tips by Bosch Car Service Workshop Experts. Not only that, there are loads of freebie giveaways and if you are thinking of purchasing a new wiper for your car, don’t forget to get them at the roadshow as they are going at 50% OFF! Oh, and not forgetting, there will be a photo contest and all you have to do is just snap a really creative photo with Uncle Bob and you might just be the lucky one to walk away with a brand new camera!
Yes, this is Uncle Bob! Look out for him when you’re at the roadshow!

Thirdly, Bosch is having a 50% discount on general car servicing packages at participating Bosch Car Service Workshops. But… you have to hurry though. Offer is on a first-come-first-serve basis and is limited to 10 cars per workshop only. Do note that an appointment is required so please do call the workshops to enquire on the servicing packages they have to offer and this promotion is only valid on 31 May 2012 only!

Hello Everyone,
as today is the Army Family Day, all of us NSFs have been invited to the Army Open House [AOH] 2012 @ Our City to view the latest military technology and to keep ourselves updated with the latest army happenings.
Well, Baby and I initially planned to visit the AOH over the weekends last week but due to time constraints, we weren’t able to make it. As a result, much of what you see in this blog entry is a limited cover on this event.
As the AOH was held at the City [F1 Paddock Building to be exact], I drove and parked my car at the Marina Square Shopping Centre and walked over. It was about a 10 minutes walk from the Marina Square Shopping Centre Carpark to the F1 Paddock Building.
Along the way, I shot these footprints that indicated the directions to the AOH.
From AOH 2012
And seriously, the weather was extremely hot!
From the cross junction, I could already see that there were tons of people at the AOH and for myself personally, I tend to avoid crowded places unless there is a need to.

As I was there at around 0945hours, I straightaway went to queue up to view the Dynamic Defence Demonstration [D3] that was to take place at 1000hours at the Dynamic Show Arena. I must say, the D3 was well carried out with precise coordination that left many of the audiences in awe. In fact, watching the D3 was very much realistic as to what we [whom are serving our National Service in the SAF] are doing during our training. Here are some photos that I took during the D3 and this is part of my photography exploration with my Canon Powershot S100.

As always, the Singapore Red Lions Team are a National Icon for all National Day Parades and the AOH was not an exception either. Try to spot the tiny Chinhook and Parachutes in the following pictures

Much of the theme of AOH is very centred on NS45, the celebration of 45 years of National Service where Fathers and Sons can come together to share their experiences. And the D3′s plot is somewhere along the line where Fathers and Sons work together hand-in-hand to ensure that the sovereignty of the nation is not compromised.

Ok, following up, here are really huge chunks of photos that I took for D3 and in this segment, they demonstrated to us how our forces secure a building that has been captured by enemy forces. Do be patient and allow the photos to load as there are really lots of photos for this particular segment. I shall attempt to let the photos do the talking. In the photos, you could see the use of artillery and armour vehicles that uses shells to punch through the building. You could also see Chinhook, Apache Helicopters utilising their missiles and also the Infanteers whom came into the heat of the battle via the Terrex ICV!

I must say, the D3 was extremely solid. Not only did an awesome demonstration was put up, but it also thoroughly engaged the audience. Even after the D3, there were souvenirs for all the audiences [provided that they were able to catch it].
From AOH 2012
Yes, these are the souvenirs that I am talking about. Little toy soldiers on parachutes that flew to the audience. I was able to catch hold on one of these but I gave mine to a little girl that was sitting beside me.

As you can see, for just the D3 alone, there are already so many photographs taken! If I were to cover the entire AOH, I figured that I would need to break down this blog entry into a series of entries. So I shall not do that as I have quite a number of outstanding backlogs. In summary, there are just so many things that you can do at the AOH. There are definitely many exciting activities that you can do there such as taking a joyride on some of the military vehicles, taking photos with the soldiers, finding out more about the latest army happenings and so much more!

Well, in any case, if you have missed the AOH @ Our City, I have a piece of extremely exciting news for you. The NS45 Showcase will be held at the various Heartlands such as Tampines [2-3 June], Jurong East [9-10 June], and Toa Payoh HDB Hub [16-17 June]! There will be the NS45 Showcase, Games and Activities, Vehicle Platform Displays, and Show Performances, so be sure that you do not miss out on them!

Hello Everyone,
Golden Village [GV] is 20 today and to celebrate the occasion, they are having some weekly offers. For the week [24th May 2012 to 30th May 2012], GV Snack Bar is offering a $20 Buddy Combo that consist of 1 popcorn, 1 nachos, 2 cokes, and 2 Ben & Jerry’s Ice-Cream. Well, besides these weekly offers, GV also organised a “surprise” birthday celebration event that indeed caught the public literally by surprise.
Just four days back [on Thursday], we were invited to GV’s surprise birthday celebration. As it was quite a last minute invitation, we did not have our Canon Powershot S100 to take high quality photographs and as such, have no choice but to rely on the iPhone 4S’ 8 Megapixel Camera.
So, how did GV’s surprise birthday celebration went?
To kick off the celebration, 20 movie icons were set out on a mission to find Mr. Popcorn whom is situated at GV Vivocity. However, instead of utilising their usual modes of transportation, the 20 movie icons decided to take the public trains from Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station to HarbourFront MRT Station.

All in all, it was really an enjoyable time covering this event with Baby and I believe that this is one event that is unique of its kind. Other than the usual COSPLAY events, this event has got to be the first of its kind, especially in Singapore. We really felt pretty honoured to be invited for this event and that’s the good thing about being a blogger. We more often than not have first hand information about the latest happenings and events before the general public does. So Happy 20th Birthday Golden Village!

Hello Everyone,
Baby and I caught Men In Black [MIB] 3 at the Serangoon NeX Shaw Cinema yesterday and seriously for all you MIB fans out there, it is a movie not to miss out on!

Well, out of a rating of 5, I would rate it a 4. However, after the movie, Baby did commented that MIB 3 kinda fall short of MIB 2. Personally, I feel that MIB 3 had too much talking rather than action going on. The story plot is good and is quite touching as well because many of the movie-goers in our session teared during the last part of the movie. I shan’t spoil the movie for you so go catch it if you haven’t!

MIB 3 is a great movie not just because it is MIB but rather because of the built-up anticipation of its release. MIB have been missing-in-action for too long a time! By the way, if you didn’t know, MIB 1 was released in 1997, MIB 2 in 2002, and finally MIB 3 in 2012. So naturally for MIB fans like me, it is a MUST WATCH movie because it has been more than 10 years since its predecessor was released.
Oh, and many friends have asked us if they should catch “MIB 3” or “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. Our answer is, catch MIB 3! On a last note, if you’re wondering if there are any teasers after the movie credits like Marvel’s The Avengers, no there isn’t.

Movie Plot [extracted from GV Website]:
In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back… in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him — secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind.
