Hello Everyone,
in this particular blog entry, I will share with you about the various Far East Hospitality Properties from a tour I had with the International and Local Bloggers.
This blog entry will feature 4 hotels, namely, Landmark Village Hotel, Changi Village Hotel, Albert Court Village Hotel, and Oasia Hotel. Out of these 4 hotels, the 2 I would most likely choose for my next staycation would either be the Changi Village Hotel or the Oasia Hotel. So, if you’re considering where to put up for your next staycation or if you’re a tourist travelling to Singapore and you’re looking for accommodations in Singapore, read on to find out more!
Landmark Village Hotel
The Hotel’s Interior [which I find quite average]
Honestly, even though I often pass by Landmark Village Hotel [due to my frequent trips to Bugis and the National Library], I never really had a good impression of this hotel due to its shabby outlook. But well, after touring the hotel, I would definitely recommend Landmark Village Hotel to tourists because of its location and its newly renovated Premier Rooms. Just for your information, Landmark Village Hotel is a 4-stars property and it has facilities such as a Gym, an Executive Club Lounge, and a Swimming Pool. During our tour at the Landmark Village Hotel, we only managed to see two rooms, the executive suite room and the newly-renovated premier room.
The Gym [also known as the Fitness Room]
The Executive Lounge that serves canapes and finger-food.
The Executive Suite Room has a pantry area, a small dining area by the corner, and a bathroom that is quite huge!
The Premier Room [honestly, comparing the Executive Suite Room and the Premier Room, I would definitely pick the Premier Room because of its rather contemporary and stylish design that could match up to those of a Boutique Hotel.]
Verdict:
The location of Landmark Village Hotel makes it a choice accommodation for tourists who prefers to stay in hotels that are situated near town. Moreover, it’s location at Arab Street means that tourists who fancy some local heritage sightseeing can do so as well. Given its close proximity to Bugis MRT Station, it makes it easy for tourists to travel just about anywhere in Singapore.

Changi Village Hotel [situated at Changi Village, this might possibly be the perfect hotel that I am going to put up for my next staycation.]
The Hotel’s Interior
Changi Village Hotel has functions rooms and meeting facilities available for booking as well. They are especially suitable if your company is looking to organise a retreat/seminar.
They have an Italian Restaurant situated on the 8th Level of the Hotel.
And here’s the best part, I absolutely love their outdoor space that is situated on the 8th level of the Hotel. In fact, this is a really ideal venue for you to hold and organise a wedding solemnisation/company party/birthday party! Just take a look at the following photographs and you will know why.
Yes, they even have a pool on the 8th level.
The hotel has 2 pools. One on the 8th level and the other on the ground level. This particular pool is situated opposite the Saltwater Cafe so… people can literally see you swimming while having their meals. This is also another possible area of the hotel that you can utilise to conduct functions but personally, I would recommend the outdoor space on the 8th level instead of this one.
Then, we went on to look at their Royal Suite Room and their Deluxe Room.
Here’s the Royal Suite Room
I think almost all of their hotel rooms have this see-thru glass panel where you can observe the other party having a shower in the bathroom. I really wonder if this is like the latest trend or what.
The gigantic bathroom.
Here’s their Deluxe Room which I found to be pretty decent but lacks space.
And here’s what I really love about this Hotel! Their Executive Lounge!
Check out the wide assortment of books they have in the Executive Lounge that are available for reading!
Here’s the best part. They have Mac Stations available for guests to surf the Internet!
Verdict:
Changi Village Hotel is an extremely suitable accommodation for those whom are seeking a more laid-back and quiet side of Singapore. Tourists can also get to enjoy the local Hawker Fare within the vicinity of Changi Village. Tourists who are more adventurous can consider taking a bum boat to neighbouring offshore islands such as the Pulau Ubin Island or the Kusu Island. Due to the hotel’s close proximity to Changi Airport, transit guests are also welcome. The only probably downside is the inaccessibility of Changi Village Hotel which the Hotel makes up for it by providing complimentary shuttle services.

Albert Court Village Hotel
Albert Court Village Hotel is situated at Albert Street near the Little India vicinity and the hotel is rather unique by itself because of its structure that comprises of pre-war shophouses.

The Hotel’s Interior
Wonderfully made mocktails to freshen ourselves up!

The hotel has a Gym that operates for 24 hours!
Because of the hotel’s structure, constructing a swimming pool is definitely impossible. Hence, mini-Jacuzzi are made available for guests to relax and chill out.
The Executive Lounge
It seems that Mac Stations are made available at almost every Far East Hospitality Properties.
The Hotel Room has quite an old-fashioned design and it doesn’t really appeal to me. But I believe tourists who have a liking for heritage buildings might consider putting up in this hotel.
Verdict:
Tourists travelling to Singapore might consider staying at the Albert Court Village Hotel because of its close proximity to town. In addition, tourists who want a slice of Singapore’s heritage and culture can also visit the nearby Little India. Tourists looking to shop for electronic goods can also do so at the nearby Sim Lim Square. Personally for me, Albert Court Village Hotel is not really my cup of tea but I heard that she has her fair share of return customers.

Oasia Hotel
Oasia Hotel is located at Novena and it is near the Velocity Shopping Mall, Square 2, and Tan Tock Seng Hospital. As I mentioned, Oasia Hotel might possibly be the next choice of accommodation for my next staycation. As Oasia Hotel wasn’t in our itinerary for the day, we weren’t shown the rooms of the hotel.
Some Photos of the Hotel
They have a Gym with rather modern facilities too.
From what I heard, they have 2 swimming pools but well, I only managed to view this one.
And to cool ourselves, we were treated to an awesome mocktail. Here’s Mr. Steven Ho preparing our drinks.
Since Oasia Hotel wasn’t in our itinerary, we went straight for lunch at one of their in-house restaurants known as Zaffron.
Well, in my honest opinion, the food served at Zaffron is quite standard. Although the buffet spread is not much in terms of variety, the quality of the food makes up for its shortcoming.
What I really love about Zaffron is that it serves Cold Stone Creamery Ice-Cream!
Well, the last I heard, Zaffron was having a 1-for-1 buffet promotion. I’m not too sure whether they still have it now but you just might want to call them up and check it out. The lunch very much concludes the Hotel Tour and seriously, I personally feel that the tour should either start late, or otherwise, breakfast should be catered for the local bloggers. It’s not fun to wake up early in the morning with little sleep and no food.
Verdict:
As my group did not get to view the hotel rooms, it is really tough for me to come to a conclusion. Nevertheless, I believe that tourists travelling to Singapore might choose Oasia Hotel for the fact that it is located near the MRT Station which makes it accessible to travel anywhere in Singapore. Moreover, the Newton Circus Hawker is just one train station away and hence, provides tourists the opportunity to taste the local Hawker fare. A big plus point about Oasia Hotel is that it is relatively new and hence, has a rather modern stylish design.

That’s all for the tour and we hope that through this blog entry, you will be able to look at more accommodation choices when you visit Singapore.
Stay tuned for our next update about the Singapore Blog Awards 2012!
God bless!
