Baby and I have personally dined at The Paramount Restaurant which was situated at The Paramount Hotel on two occasions. On the first occasion, we had a taste of their sumptuous classic buffet and on the second occasion, we had a taste of their exquisite Dim Sums. Well, sad to say, for those of you whom have never been to The Paramount Restaurant, you probably would not have the opportunity to dine there again because its last day of business was just a few days ago, on 29 February 2012 to be exact.
About The Paramount Restaurant
The Paramount Restaurant was part of the Tunglok Group and it’s interior design and structure had a romanised feel to it, thus making it a perfect/ideal venue for holding functions, especially wedding banquets. Throughout its 20 years of service, many happy memories were made, from weddings and anniversaries to birthdays and gatherings. In fact, many of the restaurant’s guests were regular diners and they are truly fond of the place. Personally, I shared similar sentiments because when I dined there last week, I could see that the service staffs whom had been working there for many years (waiters/captains) were pretty sad that this place which they call their second home would be torn down. I could just see it from their eyes and faces as they do their best to serve their guests for the last time at The Paramount Restaurant, the best they know how. Today, if employers can make employees feel so attached and loyal to their companies/organisations, I am very sure that whatever business they are doing would be highly successful because the employees will have a sense of ownership and give in their 101% efforts.
The Romanised Ambience and Feel of the Restaurant
Here are just some photographs of the Classic Buffet that we had on the first occasion and yes, what you see in the following photos were exactly what we ordered! Hence, this is one reason why I’m putting on a lot of weight!
and well, here are just some photographs of the Dim Sums that we had last week:
Looking from the photos, I am very sure you could tell that the food are quite delicious and the best part is, it didn’t cost a bomb/hole in the pocket. However, as I have mentioned, sadly, this place will be greatly missed for not just its awesome food, but also for the fond memories regular diners have had there as well! I wonder, how many of such restaurants in Singapore can give guests such a sense of nostalgic moment? Hmm…
