Hello Everyone,
today’s review will be on Suan Thai Restaurant which is situated at Killiney Road.

Alright, Baby and I purchased the dining voucher from Outlet’s Website and it cost us $32.80 for 2 persons. Suan Thai offers traditional & authentic Thai cuisine and the food are served a-la-carte buffet style. Suan Thai is located near Somerset MRT Station and is within walking distance.

The ambience of the restaurant is compact and cosy and they have both indoor and outdoor dining areas.

So by purchasing the voucher from Outlet, how much did we save? Let’s see, the regular price for having lunch there on a Saturday is $42.14 and so we save $9.34 by purchasing the voucher from Outlet.

But seriously, this visit would perhaps be our first and last time and we won’t recommend Suan Thai Restaurant.

Here are the food that we ordered;

Stir-Fried Mixed Seafood with Basil and Long Beans

Chicken Wrapped in Pandan Leaf [chicken was fragrant but is extremely tough to chew]

Boneless Stuffed Chicken Wings

Panang Curry with Deep Fried Tofu [too much coconut milk was added and hence the dish was too coconut-ish]

In general, 90% of the dishes that we ordered were served cold. Some of the dishes were overcooked and were really tough to chew. As Suan Thai has won various awards in the culinary arena, we thought that the food quality would be superb but we were pretty much disappointed. The last I checked, many people have already purchased the dining vouchers from various websites, so well, my opinion is, don’t expect too much from Suan Thai. I guess the food and beverage quality could be bad because of the heavy crowds. If you ask me, I would rather recommend Sakon Thai which is situated at Serangoon North as the service and food quality is way better.
