Our Personal Opinion of Scorpion

The first episode of Scorpion is truly awesome and you can expect lots of drama and action! It is also extremely interesting to note that Scorpion is inspired by a true story about eccentric genius Walter O’Brien, who saved the world several times, hacked into Nasa computers at the age of 13, and has an IQ of 197, way higher than Albert Einstein’s IQ of 165!

“According to Walter O’Brien, he estimated that 70 percent of the pilot’s plot actually occurred, although he predicted that what viewers believe is true probably isn’t and vice versa.”

The pilot [first episode of Scorpion], which airs on 22 September 2014, was directed by Justin Lin, who directed some of the “Fast & Furious” movies and is set to direct the next film in the “Bourne” series. The characters are based on Walter O’Brien and the people he works with, and the writers have changed the names and cities but episodes depict things that happened, Walter O’Brien said.

If you are a television addict whom have the likings for some action and drama based on a true story, Scorpion is a show you must watch! We trust that you will enjoy this show as much as we do!

Synopsis of Scorpion

©2014 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Scorpion, inspired by a true story, is a high-octane drama about eccentric genius Walter O’Brien and his team of brilliant misfits who comprise the last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats of the modern age. As Homeland Security’s new think tank, O’Brien’s “Scorpion” team includes Toby Curtis, an expert behaviorist who can read anyone; Happy Quinn, a mechanical prodigy; and Sylvester Dodd, a statistics guru.

Pooling their extensive technological knowledge to solve mind-boggling predicaments amazes federal agent Cabe Gallo, who shares a harrowing history with O’Brien. However, while this socially awkward group is comfortable with each other’s humor and quirks, life outside their circle confounds them, so they rely on Paige Dineen, who has a young, gifted son, to translate the world for them. At last, these nerdy masterminds have found the perfect job: a place where they can apply their exceptional brainpower to solve the nation’s crises, while also helping each other learn how to fit in. Justin Lin of The Fast and the Furious directs the pilot episode.

Scorpion premieres on 23 September 2014, Tuesday, at 9:00pm [within 24 hours of the U.S broadcast] on RTL CBS Entertainment HD and you can watch it on SingTel mio TV Channel 318 and StarHub TV Channel 509.

Ex On The Beach is a British reality television series that is broadcasted on MTV. The series was first announced in February 2014 and it premiered on 27 April 2014 in Singapore. The official list of cast members were released on 13 March 2014 and includes four single boys; Ashley Cain, Jack Lomax, Liam Lewis and Marco Alexandre, and as well as four single girls; Chloe Goodman, Emily Gillard, Farah Sattaur and Vicky Pattison.

What’s Ex On The Beach All About?

Narrated by Irish comedian Andrew Maxwell, Ex On The Beach features eight single men and women who are invited to enjoy a luxury holiday; believing they are being set up for a holiday romance. As MTV cameras follow their every move along a road of new romances, a twist of events took place; ex-boyfriends and girlfriends of cast members arrive unexpectedly, and the whole drama begins to unfold into something totally unexpected!

With no-one knowing ‘whose ex will be next’, each ‘ex’ has a different motive for appearing, whether it’s to win their partner back, or just to seek vengeance after their bad romance.

Our Personal Opinion of Ex On The Beach

Ex On The Beach is definitely not a show for those under 18s because of its strong language and sexual references throughout. If you’re a dude like me, you probably will not enjoy the show because I personally found it quite boring; especially with the many mini “interviews” that kind of just disrupts the whole chain of events. There were just too many dialogues and not much action and that kind of put me off. I guess I will be better off with reality TV shows like Fear Factor, The Amazing Race, and Survivor.

On the other hand, Jacqueline personally enjoyed the show and found it quite interesting to see how the plot would thicken and develop; especially when new exes were invited to the show to shake things up. She particularly found the reactions of the cast members to be quite entertaining when relationships between cast members get entangled in a big mess.

Our conclusion would be, the ladies would probably enjoy Ex On The Beach more than the gentlemen.

The next episode of Ex On The Beach will be broadcasted on 11 June 2014 [Wednesday] at 11PM at MTV Asia which can be found on StarHub TV Channel #533 and SingTel mioTV Channel #350. If you have missed out on the previous episodes, you can watch them online at MTV Asia Official Website.

For those of you whom don’t have Cable TV at home, you might be wondering what exactly is Syfy because I have exactly the same question before coming to know what Syfy is. Even then, there were a handful of people whom have Cable TV at home but didn’t know about Syfy‘s existence as well.
Syfy was originally launched in 1992 as a SCI FI Channel and it is currently a media destination for imagination-based entertainment which does not limits itself to science fiction but also fantasy, paranormal, and adventure too. In Singapore, Syfy is available on Starhub Cable TV [Channel 526].

So now that you know what Syfy is, let’s go on to talk about Defiance, a 12-episode science fiction series that takes an unprecedented approach to storytelling by uniting scripted television and online gaming.

Five years in the making and with a budget of US$40 million for the first season, Defiance is Syfy’s biggest and most ambitious undertaking in its 20 year history.
