With the recent scandal about Zoey Raymond that has been going on the Internet for more than a week already, there was even a ANTI ZOE Raymond Facebook Page that purports to be supporting Yuki Ng but in actual fact, was used to slam Zoey Raymond.
Alright, let us make this point clear. As we do not personally know Yuki Ng, Alvin Yang, or Zoey Raymond; there is absolutely no need for us to defend or accuse anybody. Yes, Yuki Ng may have been badly hurt by Alvin Yang and Zoey Ramoynd, and we all know that feeling of a shattered heart; especially for those of us whom have ever been in a relationship, but there is absolutely no need to incite hatred towards another individual that results in the behaviour of Cyber-Bullying.

The legal definition of Cyber-Bullying as given on Wikipedia is as follows:

Cyber-Bullying is defined in legal glossaries as:

  • actions that use information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior by an individual or group, that is intended to harm another or others.
  • use of communication technologies for the intention of harming another person
  • use of internet service and mobile technologies such as web pages and discussion groups as well as instant messaging or SMS text messaging with the intention of harming another person.

Examples of what constitutes Cyber-Bullying include communications that seek to intimidate, control, manipulate, put down, falsely discredit, or humiliate the recipient. The actions are deliberate, repeated, and hostile behavior intended to harm another. A Cyber-Bully may be a person whom the target knows or an online stranger. A Cyber-Bully may be anonymous and may solicit involvement of other people online who do not even know the target. This is known as a ‘digital pile-on.’

Although Singapore may not officially have laws that are specific to Cyber-Bullying, there are existing laws that can be applied against Cyber-Bullying and it may amount to criminal intimidation under the Penal Code, an offence which carries a penalty of imprisonment and/or a fine.

In a report by AsiaOne News, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Mr. Teo Chee Hean explained that offences such as extortion or insulting a woman’s modesty could apply to Cyber-Bullying as well. In cases involving serious threats, such as threats to cause death or grievous hurt, the penalty is more severe, with a longer term of imprisonment. A victim of Cyber-Bullying may also obtain a civil injunction from the court to restrain the perpetrator.

So seriously, for those who slammed Zoey Raymond by creating an ANTI ZOE Raymond Facebook Page, we hope that the person whom created the page and the people whom were involved in the slamming would understand the consequences of Cyber-Bullying and that Zoey Raymond has every right to obtain a civil injunction from the court to restrain the perpetrators.

Anyways, as of now [1735 hours], the ANTI ZOE Raymond Facebook Page has been taken down temporarily and it is unclear whether any actions will be taken against those whom were involved in the act of Cyber-Bullying. We believe screenshots of the ANTI ZOE Raymond Facebook Page have been taken and those can be used as evidences against those whom were involved in the act of Cyber-Bullying.

With that being said, it seems that the group of people whom were involved might bring their laments and hatred to Zoey Raymond’s Facebook Page and/or Yuki Ng’s Facebook Page. If they [the group of people] slam Zoey Raymond on Zoey Raymond’s Facebook Page, Zoey Raymond can inform the relevant authorities and action will be taken against them promptly. If they slam Zoey Raymond on Yuki Ng’s Facebook Page; it might be possible that the relevant authorities will take action against not just the group of people but Yuki Ng as well. So, we really hope that everyone can sit down, reflect, and think rationally before inciting hatred and carrying out the act of Cyber-Bullying. If the group of people whom supports Yuki Ng are serious about encouraging and supporting Yuki Ng, we’re pretty sure they would follow what Yuki Ng told her followers to do; that is, to resolve issues by communicating with wisdom and maturity, and not use harsh expletives against another individual.

So well, we hope that through this blog entry, we as Netizens can be more mature in the way we communicate and do things on the Internet.

It has been more than 2 days since we last blogged and we have been really busy over the last few days as we were hosting our relatives whom came all the way from England to Singapore for a short holiday. Therefore, in our few upcoming blog entries, we will be sharing about the itinerary that we planned for our relatives and also the activities that we have planned for them. And yes, thank God we’re still alive and kicking and that 21st of December wasn’t the end of the world [EOTW].
Also, we would like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Saralyn and Jason as they have won a Frezfruta Hello Kitty Promotional Pack and a Bottle of Moscato D’ Asti by G.D Vajra, Italy, in the giveaways that we recently conducted respectively.

Anyways, the recent scandal about Zoey Raymond that we blogged about has drawn quite a lot of attention and Zoey Raymond has temporarily disabled her blog at www.zoeyraymond.com. As of now, only Zoey Raymond’s Twitter, Facebook Page, and Youtube Channel are available and she has not given her side of the story till date. Well, slowly but surly, the buzz about the scandal is slowly dying out and it is pretty heartening to know that Yuki Ng has moved on and is slowly on the road to recovery. With that being said, it is pretty odd that the limelight has been thrown entirely on Zoey Raymond and not Alvin Yang. After all, he should give everyone a clear explanation of his position right?

Anyhows, that is besides the point. Our blog entry today is about the movie [Jack Reacher] that we recently caught with our relatives at Golden Village [GV Plaza Singapura] and before we share about what we think of the movie, we do have some feedback about the theatre at GV Plaza Singapura, specifically Hall 6, and we hope that GV Plaza Singapura would take note of them:

While we do understand that GV Plaza Singapura screens multiple movies and the turnaround time for the theatres are pretty tight, cinema-goers like me would really appreciate that basic hygiene expectations are met i.e. the floors and seats are free from popcorns and litter and the seats are wiped and sanitised. In addition, for some reason, the atmosphere/air of Hall 6 has a pretty bad musky and damp smell and I really hope that GV Plaza Singapura would look into this matter and resolve the issues promptly.

Alright, so here’s the plot of Jack Reacher [as extracted from GV‘s Website]:

When a gunman takes five lives with six shots, all evidence points to the suspect in custody. On interrogation, the suspect offers up a single note: “Get Jack Reacher!” So begins an extraordinary chase for the truth, pitting Jack Reacher against an unexpected enemy, with a skill for violence and a secret to keep.

Our Review of the Movie:

The movie is pretty exhilarating and I would say that its genre is more of thriller than action because of its mind-boggling storyline. In fact, we are still quite baffled over certain scenes of the movie and by the way, the movie is an adaptation of Lee Child’s 2005 novel One Shot.

As certain scenes are quite repetitive, the movie can be quite draggy at times. If you have caught Wreck-It Ralph already, you might want to catch Jack Reacher if you haven’t got any other plans. And well, if you’re a fan of Tom Cruise and you like movies that keep you in suspense, catching Jack Reacher might be a good choice.

Here’s the Movie Trailer:

Also, it’s Christmas Eve today and we hope all you Winsomelifers will have a fabulous Christmas week ahead! Do grab the opportunity to spend some time with your loved ones and here’s wishing all of you a Merry Christmas in advance!

Who exactly is Zoey Raymond? To be really honest, I didn’t even know of her existence until I read the entire note about how this lady by the name of Zoey Raymond, came between a relationship, became a third party in the relationship, and caused a wedding that was two months away from taking place to be called off! Sounds like a drama right? But well, it is a reality that this has happened and it is pretty sad to see the account of Yuki Ng, whom was the bride-to-be.
Till date, Zoey Raymond hasn’t stepped forward to give an account of her side of the story and neither have Alvin, whom was the groom-to-be, said anything to clarify the matter. From the looks of it, Yuki Ng’s account is extremely credible with substantial evidence and backing from family members and friends; and Yuki Ng gives me the impression that she is pretty mature and composed; judging by the way she expresses herself in the notes that she writes.

I shan’t replicate the story in this blog entry but if you’re really interested to read Yuki Ng’s account [some of which are written in Mandarin and some of them which has been translated into English], do check out: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Alvin-Yuki/253711181424186?fref=ts

Also, out of curiousity, I went to check out the Facebook Page of Zoey Raymond and I was pretty appalled at the behaviour of certain Netizens. Their comments towards Zoey Raymond were extremely harsh, some of which are pretty uncouth and laced with expletives, and I think it is really important that we learn how to conduct ourselves be it online or offline. While Zoey Raymond may deserve some form of punishment, who are we really to judge? I’m not implying that what Zoey Raymond did was right because I’ve been through what Yuki Ng went through, but surly there could be a more mature way of telling people that what they did was wrong right? I totally agree with what Yuki Ng recently mentioned; that even if we ought to scold people, there is a more civilised way of scolding them.

Anyhows, I highly doubt people would really pursue this matter till the end. Who knows, this news would probably have die down by next week or the week after and it will soon become just another part of history.

On a separate note, Instagram recently announced a change in their policy and this has caused quite a huge ruckus among Netizens and even till now, I am considering whether to stick to Instagram or jump ship to Flickr. Well, for now, I guess I will just backup all my files on Instagram and then when the need arises, jump ship to Instagram’s competitors like Flickr.

If you’re wondering how to backup all the photos that you have uploaded onto Instagram, there is a web app known as Instaport that can grab all of your photos for download. For more details about Instagram’s change in policy, you can check out an article written on Cnet via the following link: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-57559710-38/instagram-says-it-now-has-the-right-to-sell-your-photos

Alright, so much about all these rantings; it’s time to get back to the second part of my Genting Trip with Nuffnang!
