Hello Everyone,
this has got to be one of the hottest news I suppose! Hot Star Large Fried Chicken just opened its new outlet at Serangoon NeX Shopping mall. Prior to this, it has another outlet in City Square Mall and honestly speaking, I felt that they have made the right decision to open its latest outlet at Serangoon NeX Shopping Mall. Now, what’s this hype all about? Ok, let me explain why. Before Hot Star Large Fried Chicken made its debut in Singapore, loads of Singaporeans whom crave for Taiwan’s popular fried chicken would flock to Shilin Street Snacks store. And seriously, the fried chicken at Shilin Street Snacks store is kinda small in portion. Don’t get me wrong here, Baby and I were frequent patrons of Shilin Street Snacks store but ever since we tasted Hot Star’s Large Fried Chicken when we were in Taiwan, we felt that Hot Star’s was way much better.

This is the authentic Hot Star Large Fried Chicken store in Shilin, Taiwan.

And you guys might remember this photo of me when I did a review of my holiday trip to Taipei.

So… both Baby and I were really excited when we saw that Hot Star would be opening an outlet at Serangoon NeX Shopping Mall. This photo was taken on 17 March 2012 and the outlet was still under renovation.

And well, we were there yesterday and the outlet is fully operational!

Naturally, both Baby and I were really excited and we just could not wait to try it out and see if the taste of the fried chicken was similar to the one we had back in Taiwan!

This is the entire range of food that they sell and I must say, its quite extensive!

And to celebrate their latest opening, Hot Star is having a promotion and it is extremely value for money!

Ok, after placing our order, we have to wait extremely long because the queue was super uber long! Previously, it was Shilin Street Snacks that had extremely long queues, but now, the tide has changed and Hot Star is getting the crowds that Shilin Street Snacks previously used to have.

Similar as Shilin Street Snacks, you could see the service staffs in action!

And so, here were the food that we ordered.

The Large Fried Chicken [seriously, when we sank our teeth into the juicy fried chicken, it tasted exactly the same as the one we had at Taiwan! Truly authentic! Well, we are really glad that Hot Star decided to open outlets here in Singapore and if you haven’t try Hot Star yet, what are you waiting for?]

Wasabi Fries [eh my mouth was quite itchy so I decided to order this to curb my craving, and well, it was awesome!]

Sour Plum Sweet Potato [this came complimentary as Hot Star was having a promotion to celebrate its opening. As it was my first time trying this, I was rather skeptical about how it would taste but lo and behold, it was really excellent! The sweet and sour taste of the sweet potato is just so amazing that I would definitely recommend it to my mum whom likes this kind of sweet sour food!]

Well, having said so much about Hot Star, I am really glad that Hot Star is not just available in Singapore but its very much available at Serangoon NeX Shopping Mall, which is just 10 minutes away from my home. So, expect to see me patronising Hot Star quite frequently!

Stay tuned for more updates from us!

God Bless!

    • Hi Jen,
thank you for dropping by A Winsome Life! =)

We’re sorry to hear about your bad experience. So far, we haven’t encountered such a problem and it could probably be a one-off incident. You probably should inform the outlet that you bought the chicken chop from and request for a replacement/refund.

      Best Regards,
