Hello Everyone,
thanks to OMY.SG and Nestle Singapore, I was very honoured to be given the opportunity to try out Nestle’s latest product- the Milo Easy Cool!

Well, Milo has been a long-standing and well-established household brand that it is no surprise that they are still around till this day! In fact, since I was born, Milo has become an essential part of my daily life that I simply have to drink it every morning before I head off to school [in the past], and now, to work. Now, why Milo and not other beverage like coffee or tea? Well for me, I choose Milo simply because it is gentle on the stomach, and it gives me the necessary vitamins and minerals that I need to start off the day. It is also a fantastic recovery drink especially when I fall sick. Hence, I love Milo so much that I drink it twice a day, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon.

Now, what’s the big fuss about Milo? Well, in case you didn’t know, Nestle has just launched their latest product, the Milo Easy Cool!

If you ask me what exactly is so cool about this product, I only have this to tell you, its just simply cool. In the past, whenever we want a cup of cold Milo, we have to scoop the Milo Powder into a cup, add about 1/2 cup of hot water to it, and then stir it [so that the powder can dissolve], top it up with plain water till the cup is 3/4 full, and finally, add some ice cubes! Another way of making a cup of cold Milo would be to use the same method as the above but instead of using ice cubes, you put the hot cup of Milo into the refrigerator to chill it for half an hour.

Well, you might be wondering, instead of adding hot water to the Milo Powder, can’t we just add cold water to it directly? The answer is this, if you try adding cold water, you will observe that the Milo Powder will form small lumps and that it won’t be well-dissolved and well-mixed. [no matter how many times you may try to stir it] Hence, the quality and the smoothness of the Milo drink is slightly affected if you add cold water directly.

However, here is a piece of good news for everyone! Nestle’s latest product- the Milo Easy Cool has been launched and with its refined recipe, it allows you to make a cup of cold Milo simply by just adding cold water to it! It’s just that easy and it’s hassle-free!

Is there a difference between the traditional Milo and the Milo Easy Cool? Yes there is!

Just take a look at the photos that I put up for comparison between the Milo Easy Cool and the Milo Fuze 3-In-1

Ok, I am not sure how much you can tell the difference between the 2 photos as shown above but if you do noticed, the texture of the Milo Easy Cool is much more smoother than the Milo Fuze which is more rough and coarse in texture. To test the main difference between the two types of Milo, I added cold water to test its solubility and here are the results:

The Milo Easy Cool easily reacts with the water upon contact and you could see that there isn’t any huge lumps formed or cluttered up.

However, for the Milo Fuze, you will notice that there are patches of Milo Powder clumped up together.

Here’s a short video of what happened when I shook both dishes and tried to get the water to dissolve as much Milo powder as it could. On the left is the Milo Easy Cool and on the right is the Milo Fuze:

After getting the water to cover most of the layer, I then drained the water and here’s the end result:

You will see that the Milo Easy Cool has thick swirls of creamy liquid and does not contain much lumps

Whereas for the Milo Fuze, you will see that its more solid than liquid.

With this simple experiment, one can tell that there is indeed a huge difference between the Milo Easy Cool and the traditional Milo; which in this case, it proves that the Milo Easy Cool is very soluble in cold water and offers convenience in making a cup of cold milo with no change in the quality of the drink.

The MILO® Easy Cool is now available at all leading supermarkets and hypermarkets such as FairPrice, Cold Storage, Shop N Save, Giant, Carrefour and Sheng Siong; and it is retailed at S$6.30 per pack of 15 sachets, which works out to be S$0.42 per sachet! And to top it off, just for the month of February, there’s a promotional pack where you can get a free MILO® Easy Cool Shaker Bottle!
